Favourite Recipe...
Mine is the universal muffin recipe. It's in my "Complete Tightwad Gazette" (pg. 466 I think) and it's great! Anyone else have a favorite recipe to share?

I've used her yogurt recipe for years - my DH loves yogurt and this is much cheaper, plus I don't have all those little cups accumulating!

My favorite tightwad recipe doesn't come from TWG, but from Miserly Moms. It's the taco seasoning recipe. By making my own taco seasoning, I save a lot because I'm using spices that are already in my spice rack, and not using those expensive individual pouches. It tasted a little different from the name brand that I had been using, but everyone got used to it quickly, and now they like it better.
Another one that I like is the recipe for chocolate syrup--like Hershey's for chocolate milk or topping ice cream. It is so easy and cheap.
ANOTHER ONE is the recipe for homemade pancake syrup. The only problem is that it's pretty thin. My DH likes it hot, and it really gets thin, then. But you can always mix it with store-bought if it's that big an issue.
Didn't mean to be so long, but I love the cheap recipes!

My favorite TWG recipe is the quiche recipe - I hate making pie crusts, and I usually have some leftover after Thanksgiving/Christma. I always use her quiche recipe and it always comes out good.

I just bought the complete set on-line at Amazon. I got a new one. The new ones were cheaper, but they made up for it in the shipping and handling charges....
The pancake syrup is not a TWG recipe. I got it on-line. Miserly Moms has one that is supposed to be pretty thick--I may be able to mix the two....
If you can't find a good pancake recipe, I'll post it. Same with the rest of the recipes I posted...

I love her pizza dough recipe, but I never made it in the food processor like she (or rather Jim) does. I always just make it in a bowl, and use the same amount of ingredients, except I eyeball the amount of water.

schellie69: The yogurt recipe is in an article called "No More Culture Shock" in the third book. I couldn't get it to work for me. Maybe I'll have to try again.
