Bath gel or bar soap?
Which do you prefer?
why?
Do you find one saves you money over the other?

I use a bar of Ivory for myself and gel for DD. THey last about the same here because I ration out small amounts for her to use (nickle sized dollup on her bath puff) and keep my bar dry- her current bottle has lasted 3 months now, my bar a little longer than that.
$3.28

I use bath gel. I usually get so many for Xmas, I never have to buy any. I do like it better than soap.

I use Dove sensitive for um....... private parts per my doc. but use bath gel on the rest of me most times unless I'm in a rush. I think I have had the same bottle now for 2 years as when you use a scrubbie or loafa you don't need much at all.

I use to use bath gel until I bought some homemade bar soap at Christmas. Now I'm sold on it instead.

Before I married my dh I used bath gel. He thinks that only anti bacterial dial soap should be used so that is what we used now. It comes in some really nice scents.

I use gel. I have really sensative skin and find that bar soap tends to dry me out. I always get a few bottle of soap for Christmas and my birthday which keeps me in soap most of the year.
Have a nice day. Traci

Gel, but I've never bought it for myself.
I use a loofah so one bottle of gel lasts me a looong time. I buy bar soap for Philip.

Like Dee, I use Dove Sensitive or Unscented, mostly due to problems I was having with my naughty bits. The first thing the doctor said was use nothing with fragrance, and nothing harsh.
Then I read some of Paula Begoun's books, and became violently anti-fragrance and anti-irritant. My daughter gets some itchy raised patches which seem to be eczema, so it's Dove for her too. Unless she really begs for Disney Princess bubble bath - I give in once in a while.

I use Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap. As the label says - dilute, dilute, dilute! - so it lasts a long time.

bar soap. I get itchy dry rashy skin from the gels and some shampoos and conditioners so it may be something that keeps them all liquid.
plain bar soap. Right now I'm using a lovely expensive one with a fragrance I adore-- the lily of the valley by Crabtree and Evelyn, but it's just on the verge of causing trouble.
I'll go back to a plain natural bar soap from the health food store after to give my skin a rest if I have to.
If I don't have to, there is some Roget et Gaullet soap with some WONDERFUL fragrances that I plan to enjoy if my skin holds together with it. English Fern is a wonderful fresh "green" smell.

I only use bar soap. Bath gel is too expensive for me and goes too fast no matter how hard I try to make it last.

Bar soap. I prefer Dove or Tone but we would go through it like water so there is Irish Spring in my shower area. In the dead of winter or in the dead of summer when my skin is dry I do splurge and buy the Dove but like I said we go through about a bar a week.
