    Smile I saved 148.00!!!

Sorry I am so long writing. Went to the grocery store on Sat. Thank goodness I had my husband drop me off and come back and pick me up, it took me 5 hours with all my coupons but I saved 148.00. I also ended up with enough meat for 21 days so that goes well into my next 2 weeks after this 2 weeks is up.
I learned some things. For one from now on I will have my coupons organized where I don't have to go through them at the actual grocery store that is what took up SO much time.
Anyway I am very happy at what I saved and hopefully will continue to do so and can learn to save even more.
We don't have a vehicle and we need one BAD. We don't care what it looks like as long as it gets us around town and hubby to work. I am going to start a jar here and every 2 weeks put money in it according to what is left over after bills till we have enough for a car.
I have decided no eating out at all and no movies until we get the car.
I am enjoying this list so much and have learned so much.
Thanks everyone for all the help! Lee

Way to go! I cringed when you said it took you 5 hours, but you saved a lot of money! I absolutely hate to be standing in the store looking through my coupons. But if I run across a deal that will be great that I think I have a coupon for, I will certainly do it! LOL You did great!

Way to go, big savings! Long trip! Do you have a coupon organizer? You can sometimes find them at the dollar store.

    You did great. Congradulations.
When I first started couponing (eons ago ) I figured out what
isle each item was on and put my coupons in envelopes for
that isle. ( Labeled meat isle, cereal isle, and so on ) They were easy for me to find the ones I needed.
You'll get where you can go in coupons and all and do it in an hour or under.

    WTG Lee!

On the coupon thing, I make up my list according to how my store is layed out, then put the corresponding coupons in the same order. But I always have my binder with the rest of my coupons just in case I find a great unadvertised deal I know I have coupons for. Saves and extra trip.

I know 5 hours is a long time, but look at it this way. You were in the store for 5 hours but saved $148, which is $29.60 per hour. Not a bad wage!
