I think we can thank the rising fuel prices for some of this. Remember, everything in the store comes by TRUCK.

Giant is having a good sale on their brand TP, 2 -4 pack rolls 1000 sheets each are only $3 for both packs! That's 8 rolls of TP 1000 sheets each roll for only $3!
I bought 2 packs yesterday and TP usually lasts us a while.

I noticed. The other day at the store I told the checkout lady that they were getting like the power company. Can't afford either one of them.

The increased cost of gasoline/fuel will affect all prices --- so while the gasoline companies (Exxon, etc) are making HUGE record breaking profits, the rest of us, including retailers and businesses are having to fork over more for everything.

i went food shopping last saturday and noticed prices are inching up. most of my shopping i do at super walmart and some at sam's. somethings have gone up at both places.
i work in retail and so far prices haven't gone up on what we sell, but we are a housewares store. the only items i have had to raise the price on were the basic plastic dinnerware we had leftover from last year that went clearance but are now back to regular price.
what i haven't looked at yet are the prices on the new patterns for the summer season. i'll have to look at them tomorrow to see if the new stuff is more than last year's patterns.wife to carl

It's awful. DH couldn't figure out why we had so much trouble staying within our grocery budget. It's awful because it's everything. Even the non-processed stuff. I always relied on the staples staying stable. I'm not about to start rationing, but it's making joining Weight Watchers a lot easier.
