3 things ruined -- $1.80!!
An unusual 3 articles of clothing were ruined this week -- all were dd6's :
unwashable paint on Old Navy jeans, a cute long sleeve shirt that got some kind of glue and paper stuck to it, and a cute Children's Place shirt that a local basketball team signed their names in permanent marker (dh gave permission).
I didn't mind a bit, since all of them were from the thrift store and were .60 a piece!!! I can't imagine if I would have put retail money into these clothes!
Another benefit of thrift store shopping (especially for kids)

Maybe you could try dying the pants to a the same color as the paint or just let her wear them for play clothes so she doesn't "damage" any new ones.

oh yeah, they will be play clothes.. my whole point was just the fact that I only paid .60 an item for them! I know people who would pay $22 for a kid's shirt - ok if you can, but that would be a big bummer!

i'll never go back to buying clothes at retail prices. shoes, yeah i still buy new ones; i walk / bike everywhere and need 'good' sneaks, but all my clothes come from thrift stores.
i agree, its so much nicer to rip/stain/wreck clothes that cost just a few bucks!!!!

I agree also. I need some new jeans and my son needs some new pants; I will go to the thrift store that we recently visited to buy these. I won't feel near as bad when he inevitably ruins them!

Kids, nothing is safe, lol! I also won't buy new ever again with the exception of shoes, I just can't justify that kind of money on clothing!

I know what you mean! My two boys eventually destroy every piece of clothing I get for them. We would be (more) broke if I paid anywhere near regular-store prices.
You know, I often read advice about purchasing "good quality" (read: full price expensive) clothing for your kids and then ebaying them or taking them to consignment stores. I always wonder who in the world is lucky enough to have kids who don't destroy their clothes?
