I was thinking of teaching my daughter that for every dollar you get you have to save ___% and put it in the bank.

What do you do?

We've been discussing the same thing. I think we'll have Julia do 25% to church, 25% to savings and the rest she can keep to spend. She only gets $1 a week right now, so, I think that's fair.

We just started an allowance for my dd and we're dividing it as follows: 25% donation, 25% paid to her, 25% into savings, and 25% into a vacation savings. She has no problems with this and is very excited about saving money and donating money. Right now she's saving up her donation money (not sure how long we'll actually save for) to do something a little bigger
