    that's what happened to me. spend, spend, spend with no accountability. DH and I's income last year was $192,129. Where did that money go!? and what do I have to show for it!?

    I went through my last year's expenses (microsoft money) and realized I spent $16,000+/- on miscellaneous. What that means -really- is 'I have no clue'. $10,000 on grocery! Those were the big ticket numbers. I don't do anything with DH's budget because- thank goodness- he manages money much better than I did.

    Once I saw that- epiphany!!
    I use the envelope system and it works!!

    Those little things add up. Don't know what kind of water she's buying but she could buy a whole case 24-36 for less than $5

    And THAT is my issue with people having pocket money. What do you really NEED that you can't plan for in advance?

    I can't believe the difference of me now and how I was say 15 years ago. I make a lot less money and have saved so much more!
