Cell phone: How old and how much per month?
How old is your cell phone? And how much do you pay per month?
I have a 6 year old phone and I pay $10 per month on a pre-paid plan.

Ugh, I just had to a buy a new cell phone yesterday. My old one crapped on me. Apparently when it spent a night in a snow bank a few months ago it kind of hurt it. Who knew?
My plan is about 40 a month. We use it for all our long distance though.

We have a Tracfone that my in-laws bought us 3 years ago. They buy us minutes as a Christmas gift so I'm not sure how much they cost but it's not too much, very reasonable compared to other plans. Since our phone is mostly just for emergencies it works for us. You might check them out.

me and my husband carry cingular pre-paid phones, and have had them for about a year. I have been buying a $25.00 for each phone and this will last us for 3 months. Pre-paid is the only way to go for us, I hate contract.

I bought a Virgin Mobile phone last Christmas. I put $50 on it and still have $45 left. Pre-paid works for me.

we have verizon, couldn't do their prepaid because it would cost more to go with their prepaid than to sign up for a contract. when mine was up we looked at prepaid and almost fell over from the stickershock.
my phone i have now is 4 or 5 months old. we were on mil's contract but when my phone's contract was up, we split off my phone and dh's phone onto our own and i got a new phone.
it's $81.00 a month but was teh best option for us. dh uses his a lot because of being on the board for the local baseball league. if we went to one of the other prepaid options, it would end up costing us more. and all calls between the two of us and to his family are free since we are on the same network.wife to carl

DH and I are on a combined plan, so $75 a month for both of us. My phone is 4 years old, DH's is only 2 (he had his previous phone for 6 years before not being able to find a replacement part for it).

1 Year old pre-paid Virgin Mobil that costs $15 each every three mos. Best bargain ever for the occasional use that my DH and I need them for.

Our plan is 75 a month plus all the fees. Dh is required to have it for work and his employer reimburses 5.50 a week on it.
Our phones are about 6 month old.
We used a trac phone about 2 years ago (we gave it to my mom now) but with Dh's work calls (last month 3500+ min) pre paid is not an option. I must confess I hate the big bill though!~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

hmmmm ours is less then a year old. had to replace them when some kids broke into our vehicles and stole them. then they proceeded to call their mothers cell phone with mine... but anyway i just downgraded our phones to $50 a month. wish we could use our cells in our house and i would dump our land line.

Geez, I'm thinking prepaid is the way to go after reading these. I have a contract, about a year and a half old (I believe its 3 yrs) and pay about $40/mo. Dh's work pays for his.

My phone is around a year old now. I work for the phone company though so I don't have to pay for the minutes. When I leave my job it will probably cost me between $40-$60 a month until my contract runs out. (I have a little over a year to go on the contract.)
I have gone completely cellular though, I have no land line and haven't for two years now. I love it. Of course that means, I pay for cable internet because I can't use dial up. But between what I'd have to pay for monthly phone service and internet service I come out about even especially when I take into account how much faster cable is.Have a nice day. Traci

I got my phone at christmas ( my son has a fascination with them and this one lost its life down the toilet
) its a prepaid one but it came with 100 Eoru free which is sent to my phone in a 10 euro installment every month - I only use the 10 euro or I get free credit by collecting points on a website. With my provider I also get 300 free webtext messages a month which is great! as I am generally near a computer
