Murphy's visit and a DH brag

DH called this morning. It's never good when his first words are "Are you sitting down?" and "Please don't go into labor." His car died as he was pulling into work. Thank God he got TO work and it didn't up and kick it on the 1/2 hour commute. We've known for awhile that this may be around the corner. His car's a 1994 with 165K miles. I just kept praying it would make it till I quit work...my last day was 2 weeks ago. Of course, this comes right after we get our taxes and put $1000 in an EF and make a $400 payment to CC1. I don't know if we'll fix the car, going to see how much it'll be, but darn that Murphy. What timing he always has!

On a good note though, last night my dad came over for a visit. We were talking about taxes and how they always are spent so quick. I mentioned that we were doing a balance transfer on a CC and had used some tax money to make a payment. DH looked at me and said "That's the one that'll be paid off in May, right?" He actually does listen to my ramblings about debt and budgeting and paying off the CCs! All this time I figured it's in one ear, out the other...guess not!

Sorry to hear about the car. But it's sounds like your husband is listening to your plans, which is always good!

But I don't think it was Murphy. It sounds like you knew it was going to happen. Murphy only visits when you don't expect him. Now let's kick Murphy to the curb!!!
