Default I understand why mom did those things

A lot of you will probably relate,

Growing up I could never understand why my mother always took the heal of bread , When we asked her she would say "I like it".
Mom always had the burnt toast on her plate? She only took the piece of chicken that nobody else seemed to want. She always asked if we wanted seconds before she had any. She ate our sandwich crusts, that she claimed to "love".

Just a little reminder to all you mommies, that the kids do really understand it.........maybe not now, but later when they have there own familes. All those little things added up to a lot of love.
    Thanks Mom

I'm 44 years old and still learning things from both my mom and grandma. These 2 women have forgotten more than I'll ever know!
Althought DH says I've been a prefect student right down to biting the hard candy in half so I'll have some for later.
Today I visited her and came home with tops from several cearl boxes, a couple of books she has finished that grandma gave to her( purchased from the most recent libaray sale sr's get them for 1/2 price).

I was just telling DMIL that DH always remembers mom liking the chicken wings sooooo much, and that is why he now likes them.... DMIL told me, "You know WHY I "liked the chicken wings", right?" It was of course because she would serve the kids and her DH first and that is what was usually left.... Never occurred to me... My mom did the same things...... Now being a mom I understand completely... She still preferrs the wings over anything else.... LOL..

I always liked the bread heels best. My parents would save them for me when I was a kid - in fact, I didn't know that they were called "heels" until I was a teenager because my Mom always called them the "Sara slices"

I DO remember my giving us the skin off of her roast chicken (we all LOVE to eat the skin) when we were kids, because she didn't like it (or so she claimed).

    Thanks Mom!

This is so true... and my Mum was the same with those chicken wings! Still is actually

Mums are great.... it took becoming a mother myself before I realised the half of what my mother did for me.
