    Default Using Coupons

I haven't been a big coupon user. As a matter of fact I have many free item coupons sitting here that I let expire.

But after reading the articles that Shell has been posting I picked up my coupons before heading out the door to pick something up at the grocery store. It was a huge success. I was able to get quite a few items that we will use.

I don't have access to lots of coupons so I thought I couldn't really save. Most of what I get are coupons set to me by the manufacturer. After my trip to the store the other day, I checked on eBay for a couple of coupons that we use a lot of the items. One is Toaster Scramblers ( my DS eats this EVERYDAY for breakfast) and the other is Quaker Oatmeal (we can only eat Quaker because most other brands are produced in a facility that also produces items with nuts and I'm highly allergic) and I found both of these. I bought coupons for both of these products for 5 cents each plus the 39 cents for shipping. Today, while in the grocery store I found the Toaster Scramblers are BOGOF this week so they will be $1.25 each. Now with the coupon doubled they will be only 25 cents each. I have been buying these forever usually at $2.49 each box and this week I can get 10 boxes for the price of one.

Can you tell I am excited? Now, I just have to figure out how to use coupons without getting carried away and buying stuff we won't use. I think that is why I have stayed away from them. Fear of buying just because of the coupons.

Any tips you want to share with me?

No tips but wanted to say good for you! Just have to stay disciplined to buying what you use and do what you just did. You hit yourself a home run there!

Great job! If you find a great coupoon, and wish you had more, you can try www.thecouponclippers.com. They sell--usually 5 to 10 cents--coupon from the paper. There is no minimum purchase, and if the coupon's good, with a sale, you can save a lot more than you spent on the coupons.

I recently spent 60cents for 15 coupons that let me get 30 cans of tomato sauce free--a $9.90 value, so my savings after the coupons were $9.30.

The shipping and handling was low, and they got the coupons to me very quickly--actually shipped out the day I ordered them on -line.

I love to use coupons...I save a TON of money. I use them a lot for baby wipes, juice, baby food, chicken nuggets, cereals, etc. Things we always eat and use. I do buy a lot of coupons on e-bay and on thecouponmaster.com. We are lucky to have stores in my area that double coupons. I am majorly bummed because I found out that my favorite store is changing their policy and only doubling to .50 instead of $1.00 as of the 26th. I know I have been blessed this long with the $1.00 but it is so nice only paying .19 for a thing of baby wipes. I have been very busy using up my coupons the last day.

If you have any questions, I would be happy to try and help.

Good luck and keep up the savings. It is a great feeling.

    Take Care,

I love using coupons and have just started thecouponclippers.com. A big thing for me is to match up the ads for the coming weeks with what they have there and then get them in time for the last day shop. Also, I'm big on rainchecks now. If they don't have the sale item, get the raincheck and then come back with coupons and the raincheck.

Stay up to date on your clipping and take your time when looking through your pile before you check out.

My savings have increased dramatically since I started acquiring multiple coupons of frequently purchased items. I have a monthly "coupon swap" at my house for members of our homeschool group, and I also purchase coupons from thecouponclippers.com and a few others. I do use ebay for hard to find coupons, but sometimes the price on ebay can go too high. I LOVE coupons! If it were not for coupons and stores that double the value (usually just up to 50ยข, but occasionally up to $1.00 coupons), we would not eat as well as we do.
