Default What have you bought second hand lately?

My DS 6 years old has decided he wants to try ice skating. We went once and the 3 of us rented skates. So now he thinks he wants to keep doing it. I bought him and me used skates. Mine were $20 and his were $25. For $4 a rental, shouldn't take us long to recoup. Plus I'm not sure he'll stick with it and my skating is sooo bad, it's not worth spending money on me. As I was deciding whether to go to the used sporting goods store or to a regular sporting goods store (keeping in mind it is beyond end of season), I did think of all of you and decided I'd like to post my success instead of spending big bucks on the two of us for something my DS may not stick with nevermind outgrow soon.

I'd go to play it again sports. Great prices and you can always resell them back.

It is coming on to Winter soon over here, I went out last week to the thrift store and picked up several items of winter clothing for my kids.... jeans and coats are so expensive to buy new, and kids outgrow them so quickly... I couldnt find any jeans under $25 here in the shops, went to the thrift store and found some really good, gently worn pieces for a pittance....I love my local thrift store!

I recently bought some clothes from the thrift shop if that counts, I got my son 2 hoodies, a shirt and a pair of pants and me 11 shirts for $30, so we did good. All were brand name like Abercrombie and Hollister and my sons were like South Pole or something like that.

I might go back on Wed. since EVERYTHING is 50% off.

I recently bought a few tops at the local thrift store. I love to buy secondhand. Not only do you save money on the purchase price over retail the sales tax savings is great too!

well my friend from arkansas said her son has outgrown all his clothes from last year and had to go buy him new ones. i offered to buy all the ones he outgrew so shes going to clean out the closets for me. my son is only 4 and is wearing size 6-7 clothes and a size 13 shoe. i worry about what he's going to wear when he turns a teen, i'll be spending a fortune in clothes. hopefully he'll just stay behind her son (whos 8) and i can get his hand me downs.
