I am starting to go through steriod shots in my neck to try and help the 2 bulging disks in my neck if this does not work surgery is the next thing what I would like help with is, i am going to be out of commision for a while and my dh and his best friend that lives with us will be doing alot of the cooking and shopping along with my 19 year old daughter now my dh is good at not buying things sometimes to the point of not getting something that we use when in it is on sale then a week later buying it at full price, my dd is a impulse buyer been working on that with her... does any one have any ideas how I can stick to my food budget get what I need and not have everything fall apart. Sorry to hear about your neck problem.
I have no experience with these shots so I can't help there.
Menu planning and using what you have in stock now may help.
Possibly sending them with a list and just enough money to cover the cost of what is on the list.
Stress the importance of staying within the allotted amount.
I hope this all works out for you.
Good luck and a speedy recovery to you.

Hi,
My best friend gets these steroid shots in her lower back every few months. She Can drive herself there and back, but I choose to drive her, becuse they hurt. She doesnt feel good the first day, but the next day is back up and at her regular schedule.
I am hoping it is this way for you, and that you come thru it with flying colors. Good luck to you and I will be thinking of you and your family!!

OAMC
Try cooking ahead. Like make 3 meatloaves the next time instead of one. That way there is less shopping and less cooking that they have to do. And the less shopping the less chances for going astray as you pretty much know they will do. If you are limited from carrying groceries after the shots, you can always go with your husband or you can have the store put the bags into your trunk and have someone at home unload.
And if you go for surgery, stock up as much as possible beforehand. Even you paying full price for stuff you'll need over multiple weeks is still cheaper than all the impulse buys. Even convenience foods are cheaper than running to the store (and thus buying extras) and takeout.
Cook a turkey and package up the cooked meat into sections. Cook hamburger for taco filling.
Make a couple casseroles and freeze.
Check out OAMC boards for idea - you obviously don't need to cook all at once. Just double, triple, or quadruple every meal you cook and freeze the rest.
