Default I think I'm getting the hang of coupons

This is the first time I've done all my shopping (both stores) and I saved more than I spent. I think I'm getting the coupon/rain check thing down. DH was so impressed he started bragging to the guy behind me. People around here don't use coupons...it's amazing.

I even got a case of 28 ounce cans of tomatoes for free.

Problem...now I want to shop more to see how much I can save. Think I'll have to wait though...our pantry can't handle more.

That is wonderful! I am an avid couponer myself. It is hard to stop shopping, when things are FREE, or close to it. I have been saving from 74-91% on each trip to our Homeland store. They are a new chain in town, and have been doubling up to $1.00 coupons for three weeks now. I have no more room! Well, the new freezer is not full yet.

That's a nice problem to have, a pantry that's "too full". Good going, girl.

When I run across a "free deal" I will usually get it. If we can't use it, someone can! We donate regularly to the local food bank, and also give to friends that are having a hard time financially.

Thats great, in Canada its hard in PEi to have great coupons for everything. and get real good deals. the only thing i ever save on alot is Tide laundry detergent, dollar off or 2 dollar off sometimes with the flyers . Mostly its all a monet scheme foe new things here. hwne i lived in Ontario itwas great the Sundays times had lots of coupons for ALL OVER.

Today in the store I found a 50¢ coupon laying right next to the Betty Crocker Warm Delights. Even better, the Warm Delights were on sale for 99¢ AND the store doubles coupons! Why would someone not want FREE Warm Delights? These are normally very expensive, at almost $2.00 for ONE serving, but we only get them when they are FREE with coupons. Last time they were on sale for $1.00, we got 17 of them free.

    Impressive!

Well, I wouldn't want the warm delights, free or not. Chocolate gives me migraines. Plus, I don't buy boxed cake anything. I swear I can taste the preservatives.

A didn't start using coupons till recently and wow have I picked up some great deals. People here really don't us them either, My husband used to get embarressed when I used them....He has seen what I'v been saving and likes it. Funny today he picked up a jar of Gaucamole dip and I realized at the checkout that it had $1.50 off now coupon on the lid.......He just used his first coupon and got his dip for .68.

Your right, it's hard to stop...when you really get into it !

I am glad you are getting the hang of it. Shopping with coupons can be fun, especially when you are getting free items!

I coupon often and it is amazing at how much you can really save. Our stores have a coupon limit on like coupons so I have left coupons beside items like that for things I didn't need or use. I also leave them if they are close to expiring and I don't want to make another trip.
Glad that it is working out for you and your savings amount is GREAT!
