Default Quick Bite to eat on the run ...

When I'm out and about and don't want to spend much on a quick bite to eat ...

I keep a box of crunchy granola bars in my trunk.
I drop by a place that has bagel and get a bagel (under a $1)
Today I dropped by Bertuccis (italian restaurant) and asked if I could buy 6 rolls (me and the kids) $1.50.

I always keep a bottle of water and a couple little snacks in the car for DD. You can save so much and eat much healthier food.

I'm always worried about getting hungry while out on errands... and then end up spending. I never thought about keeping granola in the trunk! If I kept a snack in the car- it would be eaten.. just b/c it's there.

The trunk needs a serious hunger pang to stop and get out of the car. I like that idea.

I try to keep water in the car. I always get thirsty. When I know we are traveling longer distances, I usually pack some snacks and drinks. I don't have young children, but us grown ups get hungry and thirsty too.

Aw heck, I have been getting mocked for past 10 yrs of always having a box/cooler bag - med sized - in my trunk with water, juice boxes and granola bars/crackers, sometimes nuts too. Yet the people who mock(ed) are the most glad to see me, cuz I have the snacks!

Now I just carry a few granola bars in console to nibble on should I feel lightheaded and I always have my plastic refillable 1L bottle filled with water each time I jump into car. It stays till its about 3/4 empty then I bring it in for a wash and refill....so basically each night I do this (PLUS no one wants to share my bottle) LOL

Shorty I used to do that with the cooler with the kids when they were small, just stopped it since I'm out by myself now. Think I might do it again just for me. Because I get thirsty alot when yard saling with my mom. I keep snacks in my purse, just a tad on the low blood sugar side.
