Ugh, don't talk. It went up to $1.19 the other day and they say it's going to get bigger again by the weekend. Grrrrrrrrrrr!

I always think I should buy a car with better gas mileage....but then realize I can buy a lot of gas for what a car payment would be....the truth is I really should be utilizing my legs more, heaven knows I sure could use the exercise!(lol)

DH is supposed to park and ride tomorrow, we shall see how that goes.
He has been against it, but, I told him whatever money he does not put in the tank is his extra spending money!
Well, we do ride for free too, so, no charge to ride plus saving on not filling up the tank, he should be compensated for the inconvienence.
I know, you probably think we are such snobs, but...
Us Californians are a hard sell when it comes to public transit, spolied to the bone!!

Well, my car has a rod knock and I'm getting rid of it. It's 14 yrs old, rusting, falling apart (little things) and I certainly got my money's worth out of it.
I've been talking about going car-less for some time but my family thinks I NEED a car. My brother is lending me his car temporarily but I am SO tempted to do without one. I drove it once in 2 weeks and that was it. I'm not looking too hard for a another car right now.
That's my answer to the gas problem. Do without.

My dh switches with a coworker every other week. I just don't go out unless I have to. But I get a little frustrated with the gas prices. Everytime I do the budget I have to redo it for the gas. ARRRGH.

Once I figured out the cost per mile based on current prices, I decided I don't need to go to a lot of places
I normally take the kids to Maine for a week in the summer and we were planning a trip to Minnesota as well (we have family to stay with in both places), but I don't think we can afford the gas. It would cost us $200 in just gas alone then there's tolls and excursions while we're there. I just don't think we can swing it this year. We have a 300M (which we bought used) and it doesn't get the best gas mileage.

Gas prices are ticking me off that's for sure. I've got $60 a pay check allocated to Gasoline right now which added up to about $120.00 a month. It used to only be $45 a pay check. So $30 a month more in gas than I'm used to.
It's cutting into my grocery money and my paying down debt money. My car gets 20 miles to the gallon but thankfully I live close to work so that's not the problem it's all the driving I do on weekend. I'm getting ready to move back in with my parents and they live 15 miles away or so and I'm starting to take stuff over there and my Mother and I are working on getting the house ready for me to move back so my gas usuage is also up.
But I will be really glad when I get moved back in for both my parent's and myself. My Dad is a delivery driver and the high gas prices are eating most of his pay check so money is tighter than usual even with my parents so me moving back and taking some of the bills will help them out a lot. And it won't hurt my feelings any to have more free money to pay down debt even if it does increase my gas usuage even more.
I see some very tough times for our economy if the gas prices don't drop to something reasonable. I already see prices going up in our local grocery stores.Have a nice day. Traci
