Working on a frugal wardrobe, since I'm almost nekkid now
I never really thought about the downside of losing a fair amount of weight. I mean I always looked forward to buying a whole new wardrobe in a much smaller size, BUT I never considered the cost.

Now that I have very few things that I can wear, I have had to buy about 10 items. I've bought 2 pair of jeans (in respectively smaller sizes) and got them on sale but not at a great price. One is already too big and the other is starting to bag a bit in the rump. I've decided that I'm going to do this as frugally as possible. I had a little bit of time in town the other day and was in Khols when they were having their sale. I browsed the clearance isles and got 8 shirts (mostly fall/winter types naturally) and 1 skirt for $80. That's not bad considering that 2 of the shirts were summer tees just on sale not on clearance. Some of the items I got were on for $3 so those were great deals.
But I am going to do some garage sales and thrift store shopping for most of my everyday clothes. I want to see just how low I can go on the prices of my new wardrobe. So look for some updates when I find great deals. I hope to pretty much replace all the clothes I have (and I have LOTS of clothes all bought on clearance for under $10 ea. with a few thrift store finds here and there for less) for around $500. Wish me luck!
(and I'd like to add that I have only 1 thrift store within a 20 minute drive of me so it will take some time and driving around the city when I'm there to do this but the savings will be worth it I'm sure, even with gas prices what they are)

I can't wait to have your problem Lisa.
I did save alot of my used to fit in clothes so I'll be ok. May not be in fashion but I won't be nekkid.
Cheering you on with your quest to do this as inexpensively as possible.

Thrift shops and consignment shops are great! Especially with your new size! As long as you're willing to dedicate some time to go through the racks, you will always get great prices at a second hand store. I've had better luck with thrift and consignment than with garage sales, but with some luck you'll probably go under budget! Congratulations!

Congrats on your weight loss. We just got a Kohl's in December and I really like the store. They always have sales going on. Since summer is coming on maybe you could wear some summer dresses until you see how much more weight you might lose. Then by fall you could buy the jeans and slacks on sale.

Congratulations on the weight loss!
I had the opposite problem 3 years ago. I was extremely ill and had to take a few rounds of steroids. One week I could fit in my clothes, the next, I couldn't even button my pants.
We were already out of money due to all my medical expenses. I shopped at places like Marshalls and Ross, also looked for sales at other stores. I spent about $200 initially just so I would have things that fit properly.
You might consider shopping on Ebay. However, you really have to know your size in certain brands since things usually aren't returnable.
