    Default Frugalities-Friday, April 28th.

What did you do yesterday that made your money go further: I
    Did laundry in cold water.
    Hung to dry.
Had some of the chili from the day before for dinner.
Froze enough chili for three meals down the road.
Made a rice pudding from leftover rice and made my 2% milk into 1% milk by diluting it half and half with water. Saved both calories and money and could see no difference in the rice pudding.

I'm curious, how does your milk taste when its been diluted with half water? Does the 2% really taste like 1%? Do you have to stir it every time you use it? Does it taste better than skim milk?

I went to the championship volleyball game for entertainment. Again, right next door to work, so no extra gasoline, and it was FREE!

Staceyy:- Have to admit that I am not a milk drinker - only do this when I am cooking with milk and find no difference at all. It certainly looks a lot better than skim milk. I got this hint from somebody who went to WW who was trying to cut calories.

Okay, thanks I think I'll give it a try. I might try buying whole milk and diluting it. There could be a lot of savings there.

I bought evaporated milk in bulk for my coffee, it lasts longer than milk since it is canned! I used to waste alot of milk! I bought a case of 12 cans for 7 dollars, and one can lasts me a week!
