Default Looks like I don't have a job afterall:(

The father of the baby never called or anything and when we got home Sunday evening there was a message from the mother saying she didn't need me this week and they had some things to work out. So I called and left a message which she didn't return. I finally called her mother yesterday and said no hard feelings, but I need to know one way or the other. I could have worked for the election yesterday but I couldn't because I had agreed to watch the baby. Well, finally the girl called last night and said her boyfriend's mother was going to watch the baby. Then she asked if I would be a backup and I said no promises. According to her mother, the boyfriend wanted his mother to watch the baby but only if he could have the baby live with him. I just don't even want to get in the middle of that. I guess it wasn't meant to be. I applied for a position through greetamerica and I'm going to finish my application for mass connections. I've heard really good things about them and working ten hours over the weekend sounds about right for me. Thanks to everyone for your support.

Sounds like irresponsible people anyhow and I'd just be glad that you're not involved in that mess. I'm guessing you would have had a difficult time getting paid by them as well. Good luck w/ the applications.

Thanks. That's kind of what I thought. I figured she'd be calling off a lot at the last minute and that I probably wouldn't be paid on time. Not to mention the fact that the going rate for an average (not the really nice top of the line around here) daycare is twice what they were going to pay me for an infant. I wish them luck and maturity as they're going to need it

Sorry things didn't work out, but as others have said, it may be for the best. I agree that they probably would have been the types not to pay you on time, or even try to get away with not paying you! Something better will come along.

Wow, my thoughts are with that poor baby, he/she is sure going to need SOMEONE mature in their life, poor thing.

And yep, probably for the best, I wouldn't want to be within a mile of that situation!

I feel for the baby too. I remember being young and immature and making stupid choices, but I'd like to think I was extremely responsible with my kids. I also know that the grandmother can't really even step in because the daughter's not going to listen anyway. At the very least, she is trying to work to support herself and her son so no one can knock her there. I just pray that they are granted the maturity they need to become responsible parents.
