My prayers are with you, we had a small problem several years ago with a couple of 2 inches of water in the basement. That totally freaked me out, I can only imagine what you must be going through.

Both pumps arrived at 10am. Later I heard that Home Depot did get a shipment of sump pumps. sigh ... Wasted money on overnight shipping for that pump.

DH was in the cellar. Our house had an addition put on it in 1986. So there is 2 cellars. The slab on the floor that "connects" the two - DH says is floating! He saw water coming up from the seam, pushed on it and can literally move it with just his hands. We shoved some hydraulic cement around it. Not sure if it will help the inpouring.

The older part of the cellar is about 6 inches higher than the new part. Unfortunately the old part is dryer and that's where the sump is. Hence the need for the pool cover pump that will pump down to 1/8" as that is the part of the cellar that once filled up 5 inches deep.

The NEW furnace is sitting in the old part of the cellar which is mostly dry.
There is a "hole" that the furnace sits in on very short blocks. This "hole" is now filled. I had DH turn off the furnace. It's May, it's 50 degrees outside now, and very damp. We do have two furnaces - one for the 1986 addition which is running and the NEW furnace which does the rest of the house including bedrooms. It wont be the first time we've lived with only one - though usually that's when it's winter. Should be fine and I'll make sure the kids are covered tonight.
