For frugality's sake what's one thing you're doing today?
I'm going to do my best to not go anywhere to spend any money (other than the dr.'s office....see the Wednesday post) today. No need for grocery store stops or anything else sooooooo. I'm hoping to have a no spend day.

Really scrounging through the freezer/fridge/cupboards for dinner tonight, trying to put off the grocery run until pay day so I can do grocery and grain run all in one trip.

Making split pea soup using a ham bone I put in the freezer a couple months ago the peas cost less than 50¢. Making cornbread to go with it so I'll be feeding 5 people for dinner and a couple lunches for less than $2.

really cleaning and dejunking closets and drawers
I'm doing the last bits of switching summer and winter wardrobes. (small closets, not a lot of drawers).
I find a lot of things I forgot (saves money by not rebuying) and it really pays to take a good look at what I actually have, why I'm not wearing some things (need mending, stain removal, repair???).
Some things I don't wear anyway, because I feel fat in them or some other reason-- they itch or they just don't feel right. Time to let them go -- the downtown mission will appreciate having some summer things to put out for someone else.
It's a good time to organize what goes with what, to spot "holes" in what I wear so I can spot it on the racks at the second hand clothing places such as the Salvation army or look at the current sales to fill in a blouse or something that I need to be able to use those pants or that skirt again.
It's helpful to know what I really need instead of coming home with another pile of pants even if they were only 2$ each. (they were a bit tight but at 2$ I couldn't resist so I wasted a lot of closet space AND about 12$)
Right now a lot of summer stuff is on clearance as the last of the summer stuff is coming in along with some fall things.
I've picked up some things I need and I'm in clothing mode.
I'm going to clean up and organize my sewing room next, because that has a lot to do with making mending, altering and ironing easier.

Nothing really specifically for frugality's sake. I'm cleaning the house today, which means I'm not going anywhere. Usually I go to church for youth group on Wednesday nights, but I think I'm going to stay home for the LOST season finale. I don't cook on Wednesdays, but there are good leftovers in the fridge, so no eating out.

Gee, I was decidedly un-frugal today. I splurged on 5 beautiful hanging baskets of cascading petunias! I spent 131 dollars! However, they will bring me daily joy until Sept and I promise to take very good care of them!!! They are the only plants/flowers we're doing at our home this year.
I also spent 221 dollars paying for dance camp, dance recital tickets, etc for my 3 year old.
Oh well, sometimes you just gotta spend!

Went to the grocery store today and they paid me a penny to take home the French's mustard
. Overall a good trip as I spent less than I expected. Making homemade pizza tonight. For the sauce, I halved a jar of Prego with a large can of tomato sauce (both bought when they were on sale, of course). It's my lazy sauce when I don't want to make one from scratch, and makes enough for 2-3 meals.

I made dinner on the BBQ grill and in the microwave therefore not having to turn on the oven and heat up the house. I also stayed home today. So, I did not use gas nor shop on the internet or in stores.
