Why health insurance costs so much ...
I was dropping off DD-3 at preschool and noticed something in her hair attached to her scalp. I pulled it out. Seemed to be a bug, but I wasn't quite sure. So I went to the pediatrician's office with her and they said it was a tick. And that they look whitish when they are engorged. They aren't sure whether it is a common dog tick or a deer tick potentially carrying lyme disease. So they are sending it out for DNA testing and if it is a deer tick then they'll have it tested for lyme. And they are putting DD immediately on antibiotics til the results come in. And if it is a dog tick, they'll take her off the antibiotics. If it is a deer tick, they'll continue the 14 day course of antibiotics. The antibiotics prevent the lyme disease from progressing to the next stage.
So if you are wondering why the cost of health insurance is so high, they are paying for DNA testing of ticks.

Just to ease any fear you have~ Last summer my Ds woke up with a sore arm. When looking at it he had a huge bulls eye rash on his side. He took 14 days of pennicillin(yep cheap old penicillin and not a fancy 150$ drug) and was right as rain!!!!

My youngest brother got bit by a tick as a child and ended up with the bulls eye rash. He had to do extended antibiotics, but is healthy as ever now.
