ours would be the equivalent of about $1100 - house prices in Ireland are just crazy, we were lucky to get on the housing ladder when we could. In this town the cheapest 2/3 bed semi detached house would be the equivelant of $300,000 - we are in a fairly reasonable priced area too. Our payment includes contents insurance

Rent is $593.00/monthly for a one-bedroom apartment. Includes heat, hot water and parking. There's a couple washers and dryers on site, and it is very clean and well kept. The landlords are very friendly, nice people and the community is very safe and quiet. Little old ladies walk up and down the street at all hours and there are children running around everywhere.

Our rent is $805. Includes heat, water. Its a one bedroom apartment. Its several hundred dollars cheaper that nearly all apartments in our neighbourhood as its one of the most expensive in the country. We're still moving to a more inexpensive part of the city however when our lease is up at the end of the year.

486.77 including taxes and ins. This is for a 150+ years old 4 bedroom 2 bath farm house on 10 acres bought 8 years ago with about 15% down.. I'm very thankful to have very low taxes since we are considered ag land( yeah WI farm taxes!).
I guess I included all that so we could guage more where and what we get for the payment. It's so different from area to area.~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

In Ontario, Canada
Out mortgage is $500 biweekly (will save us thousands in the long run paying this way), that includes mortgage insurance but not taxes (those are about $3000 a year that we pay twice a year).
10 years ago b4 we bought this house - we paid $950 a month rent for a dinky 2 bedroom apt in a not so great neighbourhood. That didn't include any utilities either.
