Tire rotation and Balance
Well, I had to go get my tires rotated and balanced. It was wayyy overdue, but I seem to procrastinate when it comes to doing those things. (I know, bad bad me!)
Well, since I am still high off of changing my own windshied wiper blades, (ha!) I went to the shop to have the man do it for me. I mean, I dont have the equipment to do it! It was supposed to cost $50 to rotate and balance the tires.
Well, I was being all nosey, asking to use the machine thingy to take the bolts off so he could remove the tires. Basically, I was being supervised while rotating my own tires and balancing them, and having him do all the actual physical heavy labor stuff. lol.
It took about an hour, and when I went to pay, the man only charged me $30!
I am so excitied! Not *only* did I *learn* how to rotate and balance my tires, I saved $20 dollars!
So, I gave him a $10 tip. He told me it was too much, and I just said, oh well! And walked away. I figure, I was going to pay $50 plus a tip, so I am still saving money. And it was awfully nice of him to lower the price, when all I did was remove the nuts and bolts, and push buttons on the machine. lol!

Anything they can do we can do better

Good job! I watch and learn a LOT of things from the guys around here, but most of the time still play the "helpless" woman to make them feel needed, lol. In a pinch I CAN use a lot of the tools around here, but shhhh, don't tell the guys!

That's great!
Wow, now I feel stupid. I had no idea you were supposed to tip the tire guy.

Cool!
I recently had the tires on the CRV balanced and rotated for free. A new garage opened up nearby, and they sent us several coupons in the mail to try to drum up business. One was for a free tire rotation. I totally took advantage of that! Felt a tad guilty since I already have a fantastic mechanic, so I have no plans to go back to the new garage, but then again, they sent the coupon, so it was meant to be used!
