Bathroom mirror
Does anyone know of something I can put on my bathroom mirror to keep it from fogging up while the shower is on? My DH wants me to find out. We run the vent fan while the shower is on, but it still fogs up.
Thanks

I've read that if you put on shaving cream and wipe it off, it keeps it fog free.

Actually, rubbing alcohol is supposed to work too. Just coat the mirror and let it dry. I haven't tried this though.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I will try both and see which one works best.

I've read soap, and I've done it but never remembered to actually see if it works. Makes sense that shaving cream would do the trick, too, because it is just whipped soap.
There are also commercial preparations that are supposed to make water bead up on windshields that I think might work.

I always used to use soap, it works, but leaves big white streaks on your mirror.... now I just don't look at myself.

Yea...let us know. We just moved and the master bath has this huge mirror. It measures like 4X6 or so....I hate it. Shows to much of me

I could just spray paint it black

glycerine (sp) is the ingredient in soap that keeps the mirror from steaming over.
You can get a small bottle of glycerine at most any pharmacy, and apply a thin coating.

A quick update for those interested. Shaving cream definitely works. Next I will try the alcohol, I'm not sure I can get soap on thin enough to still be able to see in the mirror.
Thanks all!

I don't think I've ever seen antifog windex, but sure seems like it might be a better choice than shave creaming the mirror. LOL I will have to look for it.
Thanks all.

isn't there something like rain-x or i don't know what it might be called...you use it on your car windows to help with the fogging. i'd try the autoparts store.
