Just wondering if its possible to get a joint card account? My fiance and i both have individual cards, but they are hard to keep track of. We want at least one to build up our credit...

All of our credit cards are joint in our house. Call your company and say you want to add one of you to the other account and cancel their account. (Did that make sense?) Or, close what you have and open a new one together.

You can put anyone on an account be careful and be SURE you can trust the other person and that you have the same savings/spending thoughts and goals or you could end up with a HUGE mess!

Hubby and I do have joint accounts but he lets me know everything he purchases, I'm the money manager here.

Thanks for the advice KJ!
I trust him completely, since the way we both see it, we're in this together from now on! We have a joint account together already and it hasn't been an issue on either side. Actually, it is working far better than when we had individual accounts! Because of the joint account was working so well, i got the idea of a joint credit card!!!Debts

We chose not to merge our credit cards, but as part of our agressive debt reduction we ended up opening a new account with a 0% intro rate to transfer stuff onto. We just made the new card a joint account. If I want to charge anything on my card, I can and if he wants to charge anything on his card he can - but we're both responsible for paying them off from our allowances. Our joint card is more for emergencies or convenience (and is now $1700 away from becoming strictly a pay-off-every-month card!).

It's great that you are on the same page on finances, this is often the biggest hurdle that couples face. We actually have a few cards, two we pay off monthly (these give us cash back on purchases) and like Telephus we also have one with the 0% interest that we've transferred our remaining debt to from the other CC's and will pay off by the time interest kicks in.

If you do open a new joint account, the cc company will run a credit check on you both. Be careful if you are adding your fiance to your card or vice versa because the cc company will easily add him or you as an "authorized user" and issue a separate card, but the "authorized user" will not be liable for the purchases on the account, meaning that if for whatever reason you two split, if he chose not to pay the cc, it wouldn't impact his credit, only yours. If you do add him to your existing card or you to his, make sure that you are making it a joint account instead of just adding the authorized user. I hope all of this makes sense.
