Smile Summer Clothes for Next Year

I went post 4th of July end of clearance shopping yesterday. Now is when I buy my kid's clothes for next year. So I think I'm set for most of next summer's clothes. I picked up $4 polo type shirts at the GAP. Kohls always has great clearance sales.

My kids are still little DS is 6, DD is almost 4. I've never brought either child with me to clothes shop. Clothes just magically appear in their closets.
This way they don't get the gimmees, they don't sabotage my budget, no fights, and I can dress my daughter my way. If it was up to her, her entire wardrobe would be Dora and other character clothes. Plus they aren't "thinking" about what they wear. They take having clothes for granted, and aren't focused on them for the sake of acquiring them.

Yes, this works at their ages and someday it wont. But until it doesn't ...

Sounds like a great plan! Milk it while you can. All too soon they'll both be in school and insisting on dressing like everyone else and picking out their own stuff.

There are good sales at Children's Place now too. I found a pair of jeans for my dd for back to school for only $5.00! Can't beat that.

Great deals. I used to do the same thing as far as not taking the kids with me to shop for their clothes. But yeah, they outgrow that...

I got my son some school clothes, actually, at the summer clearance at Walmart. Two pairs of cargo jeans for $5 each and three striped polo style shirts for $2.50 each. He was not with me when I go the jeans, but he was when I found the shirs. They are all the same but one is blue, one is green and one is orange. He liked them, but did not like another one that I almost bought so it was a good thing I had him with me. He still needs some things, but we are keeping our eyes open. I have a few other pairs of new jeans bought on clearance for him in a bin. I mostly need shoes, a coat and a few shirts. Every year we buy all new underwear and socks too.

I got DD some school clothes already too. I got a couple things from a gal on Freecycle. I also got some hand me downs from a friend. Then, I bought some brand new outfits from my friend that her daughter, who is a tomboy, refused to wear. Two Gap denim jumper dresses,a fall long sleeve dress, a Nike pants and jacket outfit in purple, two corduroy pants and sweaters outfits from land's end and several tops all - $30. She also got a new pair of black ankle boots and two Columbia brand coats in great shape. The dresses and corduroy sets have never been worn. Still had tags and everything, so I feel like I did very well for her.

    Great deals

I want to head to Sears for their clearance sales. Usually I can find some Lands End stuff there on clearance too
