Default What Do You Refuse To Scrimp On?

I was curious...my dh and I had a debate about lightbulbs last night...

It's one of the few things I refuse to scrimp on...I don't use one brand name in particular and I always buy them on sale...but I refuse to buy anything less than 70 watts. I like to see. lol

He prefers that I purchase 40 watts...Our ceiling light in the kitchen has 4 outlets...Now...I only use 2 but he would have all four burning at once...

I realize that combined I'm using 140 watts but his would be 160...

I would like to know what your limit is!

i am brand loyal to a few things but always look to get the best deal on them that i can. one of those is my dawn dish soap. the others just don't work as well and i end up using twice as much. i have a little soap pump on my sink filled with dawn and one pump is enough for a sink full of dishes. just using the soap pump saves me money because it regulates how much i use a lot easier than trying to judge when squeezing a bottle.

I also like to have a lot of light & I refuse to buy lightbulbs that are any less then 70. My main kitchen light is floresent which I perfer over regular lightbulbs, they may cost more but they last longer & give off a lot of light. Infact I have been thinking about changing the rest of the lightbulbs into floresent ones.

I'm brand loyal to a few items, but not many.I try to always buy on sale and/or w/coupons.
I do however use 40 or 60 watt bulbs. My kitchen ceiling fan has 3 sockets and all three have bulbs. Maybe I'll try the 70 watts lol

I usually always try to buy the cheapest items or get something on sale or clearance but there are something I will pay full price for. Like peanut butter - it has to be Jif and if I'm buying spegetti sauce in a jar ( I like to make it homemade) then I will buy Bertolli. I know it is silly to do this but I just can't buy the generic of some items!!

I refuse to scrimp on health and dental care (Duh). Name brand coffee(bought w/ coupons). I buy name-brand light bulbs. In my house(100+yr old) buying generic is an execise in false economy, the generics just don't last. I am careful where I buy gas for my car. There is one place in town, the cheapest of course, that I refuse to buy from. I don't buy cheap floppies for my computer, too many problems.

I tried cheap band-aids and they kept falling off right away and cheap conditioner turned my curly hair to frizz. So I don't scrimp on those!

Default My Dh's would be Kraft Barbecue Sauce and Liquid Smoke....

My Dh's would be Kraft Barbecue Sauce and Liquid Smoke....
Sometimes He will use a coupon for the Kraft Barbecue sauce if he has one availabe if not he buys the smallest bottle of sauce.
The Liquid Smoke is not bought that often because it last us a long time however the price for it I think is crazy. I don't know of any alternative to Liquid Smoke(meaning I don't know of any Generic's of this). I don't find myself to brand loyal except maybe Arm and Hammer Washing Poweder because My family and I have very Senstive Skin.
Oh yeah DH's also Folger's Coffee over Maxwell House.
and it can't not be instant He can't stand instant coffee.

Cat food, folgers coffee, jif peanut butter, heinz ketchup, and downy liquid fabric softener. I try to get all of these on sale and with coupons when I can.

Also we faithfully change the oil in our cars every 3 months and do all the regular maintence that goes with it. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes in having a safe and reliable car.
