    Default Grocery store thrill

I went to Price Chopper today to get some of their loss leaders. I had a cart full of groceries. There was a lady behind me with just a little handbasket. I let her go ahead of me. No sense in her waiting with her little basket for me to get through with my shopping cart full. I'm nosy. She had three items in the basket. One was something from the deli or the seafood section. Her total for those three things? $23

The total for my cart full of groceries? $37
    I got:
    8lbs pasta (4 spaghetti & 4 ziti) - 2/88c
    6 bags (14oz each) frozen cheese ravioli - $10/10
6 Hunts snack pack puddings (4 packs) - $10/10 (these are to put away for school lunches)
    4.25lbs red grapes - 99c/lb
    3.6lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts - $1.88/lb
    2 Purex laundry detergent (100oz each) - $5.49 BOGO
plus two things that weren't loss leaders
    64oz apple juice - 1.29
    Sleepytime tea - $2.99
    2 Dole pineapple (8oz each) - 89c BOGO

And I had ZERO coupons...they've been slim to none lately. Mostly cleaning supplies and not worth clipping (saving 35c on FIVE cans of soup is not exactly worth clipping).

I love those kinds of shopping tripes

High five Heather! It really is something to see how some people shop. I'm lucky with Price Chpopper here as they double coupons but your right about the coupons that have been coming out for a while... I like the buy 1 of this get so much off. Seems like those are a thing of the past.

You got some great deals. Too bad the lady with the hand basket didn't stay to take notice of your value shopping.

That is awesome Heather! Here in Canada, no one does any coupon doupling or tripling, and the coupons are not readily available anyway. I generally shop the loss leaders too.

    Way to go!
