Well, I am in agreement with EVERYONE. We should not have to justify what we do to anyone. I get a lot of the snottiness too when we are out with our kids and other's rudely ask, "why aren't you in school little girls?"
In my nicest tone that I'm able to muster... I usually tell others, I'm sorry my child has been taught not to talk to strangers. Why are you interested in my little girls? Shuts them up FAST. Sometimes, If I am feeling generous, I explain to the rude person that we are homeschooling. What would you like my child to recite to you? Poetry? Perhaps the Latin that she has learned, because she wants to be a VET? History maybe? Why don't you ask me what grade level she's reading at? I'd be more than happy to tell you that it is far and above than any child in the public school in this town.
I agree with the other villagers.... I thinkwe should be proud of our choices.
Being proud of who we are or what we do is hard, because for so long we have been brainwashed by society not to be proud of our choices.
ok, I'll get off of my soapbox
now.
