Thank you ladies...top ten things I learned here:
I really do appreicate all the ideas, challenges and support (even though I mostly lurk around
) and here are the things I have done with the help of all of you:
1. Stockpiling food from sales. This is the most food we have every had in our house and as DH would say, it is all things we would eat
2. Stockpiling other goods like paper products, tp, etc.
3. Eating more and more at home. We hardly eat out and I think we eat better/healthier at the same time.
4. Decluttering the house. I spend much less time cleaning and that is more time with the family
5. Using my dishwasher much less
6. Using my dryer much less.
7. Turning off lights when possible and trying to cook more efficiently. Last month, with 5, 6, and 7 my electric bill went down $65!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8. I shopped in a thrift store. I always wore clothes from friends/family (have older sisters), but it was a big step for me to go into a thrift store and shop.
9. Wore a great shirt I found at the thrift store to work....looked great
and ironed/starched a shirt I found for DH that he wants to wear tomorrow
10. I just purchased/started using a Divacup and I LOVE IT! I was originally planning on trying it at home for a couple months and didn't think I would ever wear it to work. Day 2 and I wore it to work.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your ideas

WTG on all that you're accomplishing
It's really empowering isn't it?! I'm really proud of you for coming out of the 'darkness' and letting us hear from you!
Keep up all the good things.
