    Default Mom 2 Mom sale

I am going to be selling in a mom 2 mom sale at a flea market by my house this weekend. I have never done this before. Is there anything special I need to know about this? Is it just like selling at a garage sale? should I keep the prices about the same as a garage sale? thanks for any information!

I have done many mom to mom's. I live in Michigan and go to the ones on the pink list often. When I sell my clothing, I keep most things very cheap. You will see other ladies pricing their clothing as if It came off the store shelf. I find if I have cheap prices, people will pick through and buy more. Nothing turns me off from a table more then walking up and seeing their pants listed at $3 a pair, and knowing I can buy them at another table for $1.50.. If I see they have a few things that I think are too much, I won't even continue looking at that table but walk on to find on with better prices. I also make sure I have a bin full of .25 or .50 cent items. Anything with a stain or some wear on it goes in there. People will be more likely to linger at your table and buy more if they see you have good prices. Make sure you make larger label signs also such as GIRLS size 2T-4, Pajamas etc... Pin any matching sets together, or they will be seperated by people picking through your table. Good luck! I have always done well at sales when there was a good crowd, but sometimes the place you are at doesn't advertise much and then it isn't as good.

Jennifer, hello and thanks for the information! I am doing the sale at Gibraltar trade center in Taylor, do you know where that is? They have been advertising alot so i think they will have a good turn out. i just had a garage sale that didn't go so great because i did not advertise; so everything is already priced and pinned and i have signs made up like you suggested. I have priced everything at .50 except for the sets which are at 1.00. do you think this is underpriced? thanks for any information.

I have never done one at Gilbrater, but have wanted to go when they had them.. I think the pricing does somewhat depend on what brand of clothing you have and how old it is. I have sold dresses and such for a few dollars because they were brand names, and I can usually get 1.50 for Pajama sets and jeans. I try not to go over 1.00 for t-shirts, but may charge a little for nice sweaters. You may want to bump up the prices slightly and then reduce as the day goes on if you aren't selling much. I try to reserve my .50 and below stuff for the big bin and have stuff that is nicer set out. Good luck! Let me know how it goes and i will look into doing the next one, we have a busy weekend here this weekend, so I can't make it. Jen
