I went off the deep end....
Sigh.
I went to a bazaar today.
Darnit, I went and bought new dishes.
Now, in my defense, (yeah yeah yeah) I havent bought ANYTHING new for my house in YEARS.
But anyways, I spent WAY to much on dishes, even though it is a setting for 6 and all the serving dishes, and they ARE from Espana, and they ARE handpainted, and they ARE gorgeous..... sigh.
I spent too much.
And now I feel guilty.
Darnit.

Well sometimes you have to give yourself a reward but remember next time you want something that you just did buy yourself something.

Enjoy them without the guilt. I have a feeling that if you had passed them up, you would be thinking about them non-stop and kicking yourself for not getting them. It's been years since you bought for the home. I feel that anything that enhances your home is money well spent. The years of enjoyment you'll get out of them will soon overshadow the cost.

I agree with the others, enjoy your dishes! I'll bet they are beautiful. That is one reason we are being frugal, so we can buy things we really love, guilt-free.

I agree, enjoy them! It's not like you flushed the money, say at a casino, you have something beautiful that you will have for many years. Call it an investment in your home, using them often is your dividend!

I guess the question for me is ...
everytime you see these dishes will they make you feel
guilty or a reminder not to do it again or bring a warm smile to your face.
There was one item years ago that I still think about cause it was the purchase I let get away.

Enjoy your dishes without guilt. We have to reward ourselves from time to time or we would blow it all the time.

That's why I am frugal so I can spend money on things I really enjoy and not feel guilty. We all deserve a little treat now and again so use them with no guilt feelings, just happiness and joy that you have such a beautiful set.

We all do this once in a while. If it has truly been years since you got something for the house, then this is really not a purchase that seems out of line to me. Ask yourself these questions:
Will a bill go unpaid?
Will we go hungry?
Am I unhappy with the purchase itself?
If you answered no to all of these questions, then relax and enjoy your lovely new dishes (they really do sound great!) Although it is not something you should do often, I think that we need these purchases every now and then to keep us motivated and from feeling deprived.

Guilt? What for? Why live the frugal life if you can't reap a few benefits once in awhile? Enjoy your dishes.

Thanks, guys! I guess it was more, the man going, "YOU SPENT HOW MUCH ON DISHES?" But of course, the next day, when we were eating pizza on the new dishes, he did say, "these dishes are great for pizza!" (Hey, he was trying-gotta give him credit for that!) And no, we are not going to go hungry, all bills are going to be paid, and I do LOVE THEM! So you are all right! No guilt about the Espana dishes!
