    Default Just a nonvent session

I hate numbers. They never lie to you.

Just sat down and honestly crunched the numbers for me and future hubby, and the reality is, I still have to work in my current job for a few more years.

Or, I sell the house I currently own, (which I am renting) take my severence pay, and use the proceeds from the house and the severence pay to pay off all of my debt, but still have to work outside the home due to his debts.

I hate debt. Why in the world did I ever do this to myself? Sigh.

Thank the Lord for all of you guys. You give me so much inspiration. I know that one day, I will be where I am supposed to be, as long as I stay on the path of goals that I have for myself.

    Treeluva,

I think the biggest step is crunching the numbers. Once you know where you are you can start to change it. If you stay on track at least working for this company will be temporary. Without a plan it could be much longer. So stay focused, you can do it and might even surprise yourself and do it much quicker than you think you can. We've all gotten ourselves into situations we wish we hadn't at one time or another, that's why most of us are here LOL, the important thing is we learn from it and change the situation for the better. You're on your way to doing that. Stay strong, stay focused and the time will fly by

Have you ever heard the phrase "Hind sight is 20/20?" That's how so many of us learn valuable lessons and unfortunately it's more often the case concerning debt from CC. It's a hard lesson learned here too, but never the less, one learned. And one thing I often find myself doing is getting comfortable, maybe too comfortable, and finding an excuse to go spend. It would be so easy. I think the best thing for me to do is to focus on the fact that I want to be out of debt. With all that being said, I can only offer this. If it only takes a few years to wipe out the debt, then that might be a small sacrifice of time in order to live more comfortably later on.
Good luck! You will get there with persistance.

I agree with the others. If we knew back then what we know now, we would not have gone into debt (especially credit card debt). It seems to me like every adult I know has credit card debt except my father!! That's funny because he's the one who told me I should get my first credit card to establish my credit. Then I went through a divorce and spent to make myself feel better (temporarily) and the next thing I knew I was several thousand into debt. I absolutely hate it because I am a single mom now and I do not want to be a slave to the credit card companies. I put $100 into savings each month and then the rest goes to credit card debt.

If we all stay the course, we will be debt free in a pretty short time. I think the ones that come to a forum like this are different because we recognize we don't want to live that way any more and we are having behavioral changes. I think these behavioral changes will keep us out of credit card debt in the future.

Now that you've faced the worst it's time to look towards that light at the end of the tunnel, it's there and getting closer every day. We can't get out of debt overnight but we can claw our way to the top one baby step at a time!

Hang in there, keep smiling and know you're ahead of the majority of people!
