    Default "New" Bike for DD

DH took my son's bike apart (DH misses doing this as he did it all the time as a kid), peeled off all the stickers, washed it down, covered all metal parts with masking tape and spray painted it with Rustoleum purple.

So DD will get her girly bike for a $3.50 paint job.

Good for her, what a great dad she has!

There was a woman in our church group and one year and we were describing our best Christmas. She went on to say that they were so poor she didn't think there would be much of anything for Christmas that year. As it turns out her dh picked bikes out of the dump, fixed them up out of spare parts, painted them and made them brand new for her kids that year. Without her knowing he had asked the man at the dump if he would put aside any bikes that came in and to give him a call. I guess he was always puttering around in his garage so no one thought anything of it. Until Christmas morning that is.

That is a wonderful idea. Your DD will be thrilled with her new purple bike. What a handy Dh you have.

Awww, reminds me of my family growig up. My dad and brothers recycled bikes all the time to sell. I even built one once and made $20. You are blessed to have a dh like that and your dd is too.
