Thumbs down Another frugalite over on groceries!

Oh, man. I know a lot of you seem to be in the same boat lately, but this month I went over my grocery budget by $105. I have a list of reasons:

1.) Walmart had an anniversary sale and detergent and cleaning supplies were 50% off, as well as our regular brand of toothpaste, body wash and shampoo being half price.
    2.) Had Rachel's birthday party
    3.) Had a visitor for a week

We only went out for food one time. Aside from that $16 this was all spent at the stores. My food budget includes health and beauty aids (shampoo, toothpaste, etc.), cleaning supplies and toilet paper, pet food, restaurant food, and groceries. This is just out of control. I had many great reasons that I spent like I did, but the painful fact remains:

    I STILL WENT WAY OVER!!!!!

The last time I went way over I tried to stay under the next month. I went even more over the next month. Three months in a row now I have blown the wad. Any ideas, anyone?

You may have gone over this month, but think of all the money you saved. In the coming months, when you don't have to purchase all the cleaning supplies you got for 50% off this month, you can stay under your budget. Don't be hard on yourself, I would have blown the budget too if I could have gotten all those items at 50% off! I more than likey would have gone far over what you did. You did well.

I agree there are some things now that your stocked up on and wont need fora while so buying them now at 50% off actually saved you money in the long run even going over this month.

    Karen,

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing. I was over by $40.08, but I didn't have any reason except I didn't stay focused on what I was doing.

I know we can stay within our budgets this month!! Let's take it week by week and really kick serious butt this month!!

I was way over in September because I got a GREAT dollar days sale @ Superstore where everything I use seemed to be on sale cheaper than I've ever seen it. AND I blew over $100 today @ that WalMart anniversary sale here in town. It was all on Vitamins though, so it's not going on my total.

I know it was good deals that I spent my money on. I just kind of feel I should have spent less on everything else. This month, Autumn, I am with you ! I am NOT going to go over my budget.
