bank of america scam
i recieved an e-mail from "ban of america" stating that my account has been frozen and i need to re-open it. well, i knew immediately it was a scam because i do not have a b.o.a. account. well, i clicked on the link anyway, and it went to a different website address (even though the original was b.o.a.com --spelled out--and was not secure) it asked for ALL of your major information,cc numbers account numbers, ss, everything. i certainly hope nobody falls for this scam, be careful if you do have a b.o.a. account!

I received the same type of email but from a different American bank (I live up in Canada so I deleted it right away) so it's not just boa that the scammers are using as a front.
Good thing you knew not to fill in the information!I want to kill my mortgage! 192,391/197,370 (since July 2011)
I'm attempting to live by the principles of The Compact in 2012. Wish me luck!

I have gotten similar emails from Paypal, saying that I've been selected for a random security verification or something of the sort. You click on the link, and it takes you to a replica of the Paypal website, where you are supposed to log in and confirm your credit card number and other such info.
Internet crime is getting very scary. If you ever get an email or phone call like that, even if it sounds legitimate, I would call up the company and make sure before you give away any information. A bank will already have your info on file, so they have no reason whatsoever to ask for it.
Thanks for the heads up!personal loan 900/15000

it took me a while to get comfortable enough to open a paypal account. i finally have but the thought of having everything taken from me is very very scary. especially since they could be anywhere when it comes to the net.

Yup, there's a lot of credit card scams out there. People are doing it with banks too. Just never click on the link. Always type in the web address to check on your account.
