    Exclamation Prepare for the unexpected!!!

Cuz that's what life is FULL of!!!

I won't be able to respond but I wanted you to know and learn from this.

Saturday I had a devestating house fire. I've lost everything I own, literally. I even lost my loving little dog Jake. He perished in the fire.

All my financial plans and goals have changed. I'm not sure WHAT my plans and goals are now.

Just make sure you have a firebox and an inventory. I was a good girl, I had an inventory since I just replaced everything 2 years ago when I divorced, but guess what, it does no good if it burns in the fire along with everything else!!! I did have renter's insurance but I'm sure I won't be reimbursed for the amount I paid for all the things I own.

Anyway, I love this site and wanted to let everyone know that you NEVER know!!!!!! Prepare!!!!

I just wanted to send out my condolences on your loss, and let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

DH and I were just talking about this last night - with everything that has happened in the last few years (from the CA fires to Hurricane Katrina and terrorist attacks) that we really need to come up with a plan for emergency preparedness - including off-site storage for important papers, evacuation plans, etc. I'm going to use Flylady's 11 Points of Preparedness as a starting point.

Thanks for the kick in the butt to get these things done - and let me know if there is anything that I can do for you, anything you need.

The only access to the internet will be the library, so I won't be able to access this site too often, but I WILL be back!!!

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. At least you have renter's insurance, many people don't. I keep meaning to get some myself. This sure is a wake call to me.

I am so sorry for your lose.

I hope one of the 1st things you go out and buy is a fire safe box. We got one with our wedding money 14 years ago and it is a good thing to have. I do need to do some type of inventory and take pictures and put them on disc and put in there also.

I am sorry for the lose of your little dog Jake. That is sad.

I am soooo sorry to hear about your loss and that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I appreciate your advice and is it AWESOME too, I have 2 lockboxes/safes that hold our valuables and important papers but tonight I will go through them and make sure we add more to them as I know I have some in our filing cabinet.

Best wishes to you and remember we are all here if you need us.

I'm so sorry to hear of your tragedy. You have certainly made me stop and consider what I need to do to protect some of my documents and pictures that would be impossible to replace. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am very sorry for your loss. I have a fire-proof lock-box, but haven't put all my important papers in there. I'm going to do that now.
