Cool A 7 Year Supply Of...

yeast. I just bought a case on Ebay of vacuum packed 1lb bags of yeast. 20 pounds in all. That's about a 7 year supply for me, but it worked out to $3.50lb after shipping was included. I also went through MyPoints and got 100 points for it and used my reward credit card for free gas. It just cracks me uo to think of 20lbs of yeast.

Wow, that's a lot of yeast! I didn't think about Ebay for something like that. I'll have to look into doing something like that on ebay! Thanks for the tip.

Wow--you could make bread for all of New Jersey with that much yeast! The little green guy is all of New Jersey eating your bread.

I was wondering about that as when I buy my yeast it always has an exprirary date on it and I have never seen it past 1 year.

Anyone eles do this? What a wonderful idea! Even in the freezer though, would it stay good for up to 7 years? I am going to start checking ebay out more often lol, I hardly ever go on there.
