Frustation: Back at square one!
Well, maybe not square one, and this time not because of horrible spending like before.
When I was unemployed for 4 months, trying to start a babysitting business, I got absolutely BURIED financially again. Not as bad a s last time, really, but still enough to stress me right out. Now I am back at work and making great money but it seems like every dime is gone the day I get paid to play catch up. I am on the verge of having my car repo-d. My water bill is 3 months behind. Christmas is a bit of a write off. Credit card is up to $500 again. Wah wah wah - yup - I am whining.
On the bright side, all the rest of my utilities that were on the verge of being shut off are up to date as of my last pay. My mortgage is caught up again. I was able to pay off two people to whom I owed money and we have food in the house. I should be able to get the car caught up mid- December. It is just so stressful because I thought I was doing ok for the last few months and then once I got this job I realized how far behind I really was. Anyway, STRESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for listening ladies! You guys are the only ones I can whine to about this - everyone I know in "real life" is all about spending and worrying about the results afterwards!

Glad to hear you have found a good paying job. I know it's frustrating to be back where you are, but if you had never tried the baby sitting route you may have regretted it.
We are always here to support you and yes, listen if you want to whine. I get upset with myself too...LOL It's great to have this forum to come to. Everybody here is so supportive and helpful.
Hang in there Karen, you will be all right.

As soon as you're caught up, make sure you get a strong EF. Then if this ever happens again, you'll be on firmer footing.

I know how distressing it is to be behind on things but you have done so well in getting everything caught up. You will have those last few things up to date in no time at all and even though this Christmas might be meager on the materialistic side, you will have the great joy of knowing that you have the more important aspects of Christmas, a family that loves you, a warm and loving home and great friends. Those things are better than the most expensive, extravagant gift ever given.

Awwww, I know where you are coming from. Dh went to schoo for 2 years and he got a great job this June. But we are still trying to unburry ourselves from those times. Nothing was bought, fixed or payed for that we could get away with during that time......so we are playing catch-up too and will be for awhile. And I know Christmas just seems to make it all extra hard. But you are on the right track! Keep up the great job!

Be proud of yourself. You are taking care of this yourself and you see the end in sight. Like you said, you are not burying your head in the sand and ignoring it all until "someday".

One step forward two steps back, but sometimes it's the other way around. This thing called LIFE! You sound like you are being honest with yourself about where you are and where you need to go. You are way ahead of the game! It's those people who don't want to be honest about their finances who are in trouble! You are doing great!!! Life is about trying things, failing, starting over, etc. Easier said than done, I know. But we're all right there with you. I wish you the BEST!

If Christmas is a big worry for you there are a few options. You can get your name in on a giving tree at a few different organizations and they can be very generous. When you are playing catch-up Christmas can be tough. I haven't been in the holiday spirit at all lately and one of the reasons is the anticipation of BILLS!!!!!! Take care!
