Coupon Savings
Okay ladies. I'm starting this thread as a challenge to myself to maintain my coupon use.
I've decided that since my husband and one coworker (albeit it a coworker with money issues) laugh at my frenzied coupon clippings (I'm to cheap to buy a Sunday paper I take the coupon from the work paper), that I am going to keep track of exactly how much money I save over the course of one year by using coupons.
So starting January 1, 2007---I'm really going to bust my butt to prove it's worth it.

This sounds great! I have sometimes tracked how much free stuff I have gotten due to coupon use, but how much I actually save with coupons would be very interesting.

I was thinking about this to and I want to start a spread sheet for 2007 and track what I spend, save and what is would have cost without coupons. I will do this every month for 1 year and see what we come up with.
I am also starting a envelope system of sorts. I want to be able to have a set amount for each thing each month and once it is gone in the envelope then it is gone. That is my goal also.
Good luck everyone we are really trying to pay down debt and also save.

I was looking at my coupon folder which I hadn't used in a while. All the coupons were out of date and as I'm pulling them out, I was thinking "hey, I bought alot of this stuff during this time and I'm basically yanking money that should have been mine out of this folder".
So I'm going to get back on the coupon bandwagon.

I actually did this last year and was amazed at the savings. The trick is to match those coupons with sales to save even more. I will also do this again in 2007

I'm in! Been trying to get better at couponing lately by keeping my coupon binder in my purse. Also trying to bring my sis around to do a swap.
I do know that I have hit a triple play a couple time, the store has an item on sale, got a double mfg coupon, and extra bonus for having the store card! Yea!

I've saved $80.10 for the month of January. I don't have access to double/triple couponing stores. I pretty much have been using coupons to start my stockpile.

That's a wonderful savings, good for you! Coupons are great, I am sorry you don't get to double them. My store will only double them if they are under $1.00 off. That means that sometimes I can save $1.10 - $1.50 off of something. Not that often, but sometimes. I wish you luck with your stockpile

I'm just getting back into couponing and so far I haven't used any, well almost yesterday, I gave dad a $1.00/1 dawn direct foam coupon since our store had it on sale for $2.50 {none of our stores double} but when dad went to pay for it he couldn't find the coupon anywhere
but he did manage to save .79 by using his store card which is better than nothing but still he could of saved $1.79 lol This weekend we are going shopping and I plan to shop for ONLY items I have coupons for it will interesting to see what I save

Coupons help a lot..
today I got free...
2 cat food
1 chi chi salsa
a $4 Reach toothbrush
saved $20 at the grocery store w coupons
and nearly $15 at CVS with spending $2.50
The stuff I bought at CVS has a $10 rebate!
At the grocery store I got a FREE coupon good for all of these: 2 Digornio pizzas, a pepsi 12 pk & a bag of tostitos chips
it can be fun to build a stockpile using coupons & sales. Multiples are great..esp for free things like the cat food & the toothbrushes.
People will give me coupons, but what works the best for me is to order them from thecouponclippers.com when I kinow a product is going on sale or for things that we use consistently. I give coupons to others a lot. My daughter is getting into it now, especially since she can get things very reduced, or even free with coupons.
Good luck Saving with your couponing efforts to everyone!!

My total for January was $79.55. I felt like I used a ton of coupons, compared to normally and I don't think that total is very much. I guess it is all perspective, and I have never tracked it before. I am curious what the rest of the year will bring.
