I have credit card addiction and need to get *clean* for the new year
Hi,
Jeepers Crow I have been bad with my credit card. Too bad actually. We said we were putting a limit on people however I went and bought more stuff for my great niece Maniah. I can't help it just love love love that kid
Although being in love love love with her isn't helping my balance balance balance on my credit card. I feel bad though they are good parents my nephew and his gf have no money really and there thinking of another baby but that is a post in itself
So I am gonna get *clean* after the new year. Too much going on right now still need a few more gifts.........oy vey.
I need to do something and will and my WHOLE heart feels something has to be done.

Best things to do to beat the addiction is put the credit cards away. Either freeze them or in the safety deposit box. It is a lot easier to live within your means if you don't have the cc's around.

I just locked up my AMEX and my Mastercard. Although Amex is at $0, the MC is at $5600 (!) because of my MBA class. Have to pay that down ASAP before the next class starts.
Lock up the cards!
Its the best idea!

I have a low interest rate credit card with no balance on it frozen in a Ziplock baggy in the freezer for emergencies. I will probably never use it, but it makes me feel safe. I closed all of my other credit card accounts. I found that I'd end up using them no matter how much I told myself that I wouldn't, so I finally had to do something drastic about it.
Good luck "getting clean" in the New Year! I understand how hard it is.

I agree with the other posters. Freeze one card for real emergencies and cut up the others. We have only one and I use it for work related expenses, airfare and groceries (I lost my debit card). I really want to stop using it completely in the new year (except work related expenses). Maybe I need to get a new debit card and then freeze the MC. I will go cold turkey with you in the new year if you want.

I agree with BlackstoneMama! Lock those puppies away! I just handed my CCs over to the best safe I know - dh! He hates spending on CC. No more spending until my balance reads a big fat $0 on both cards!
