For me it is going to be dog grooming - specifically grooming our dog. Our no shedding dog is wonderful about the house, but I had no idea that the DOG would need a haircut every 6-8 weeks!!! So just like I trim the kids and pay for them only a couple times a year, I will learn to give this dog a haircut. Hey, the dog can only get so mad at me for a bad cut

When my Ex-DH's grandmother passed away this year, I received a heavy duty sewing machine and tons of thread and accessories to go with it.

I need to learn how to use the sewing machine so that I can use my creative skills to make curtains and pillows. That would save a lot of money!

What a great idea for the new year !

I would like to learn how to crouqet (spelling?) or knit (I think knitting would be harder though). I may try one of those teaching dvds.

Great idea, but I need to give it some thought. I have some 2007 goals in mind but none that deal with being frugal. I'll come back and post when I think of something.

I'm going to learn how to sew and/or knit. I have a book on knitting and started to teach myself last year, but I got frustrated with it. The community college in our area is offering a 5-session Intro to Sewing class, and I think I might take that as well.

We will be raising some of our own food....DH and his friend along with DS planted fruit trees for a few days ago along with some flowers and vegetable seeds and a few spice plants. Next, we are going to get some chickens for their eggs...DH knows how to do this stuff already (grew up on a farm), but I am learning....I have to learn how to take care of things and more recipes/ways to preserve what we grow.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I used to sew a lot, but then I got burned out and quit. I'm planning on taking it back up this year.

I'm also going to learn to be more skillful at the grocery store and also in the organizational area.

To cook from scratch more and to use up all the leftovers creatively

Also, to reuse and recycle as many items as I can. Avoids spending and helps the environment too!

Mrs McDowell, Can you share what the name of that magazine is? I think it would be great to have ideas on how to use the leftovers before you even cook!

I plan to work more on knitting...hopefully by the middle of the year be good enough to sell some things in some small craft sales. So far I've only made two things so this is a good goal for me. Tomorrow I'm planning on starting a spring hat for one of my girls.
