Default Best "Frugal" book I own...

I just want to recommend this book - Reader's Digest "Penny Pincher's Almanac" edited by Don Earnest. I own a whole bookshelf of frugal books, including the complete Tightwad Gazette, but this book it my favorite! I received my copy free as a rebate deal, but this is a FANTASTIC book. I have used it a lot. Easy to read, I love the layout, I just can not recommend this book highly enough! I just saw a copy for sale on ebay, here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MakeTrack=true

You might also be able to get it from the Reader's Digest website at: www.rd.com

Thanks for sharing. It sounds like a great book. I checked Amazon and they have it as well, for $10.85. I guess there's a pocket version that comes out on the 18th. You can pre-order it now from Amazon for $7.99

I put a request in at my library to get the Penny Pincher's Almanac. Frugal, frugal me or at least trying to be. If I really like the book I will buy it.

Thank you for letting me know about this book.

Sounds like an awesome book...Reader's Digest can usually be counted on to have good advice. My parents have several of their books and they're all great.

I got mine free just for sending in a UPC code from Scott's Toilet Paper. Hardcover, too! Easiest refund I ever did. It didn't even require a form or a cash register receipt. I already had the TP in my stockpile when I read about the free book online. I just cut the UPC from the TP I already had, and sent it off with my name and address, and they sent me this really cool book! This was about a year ago, not a current offer. I was surprised at how nice the book was when I received it. It is worth paying for, especially if you can get it for $4.00.
