A very unfrugal thing I do often

I have a baaaaad habit of putting dishes in soapy hot water, and then not washing them. Then in the morning, I have to pour that water out. With the cost of water around here, I'm gonna definitely have to stop doing that!

I wonder how much water I've wasted over the years doing that? Strange, isn't it how you don't think so much about it until you get broke! LOL

Still trying to sell my house. The woman who was interested never called. Just as well, because I haven't had time to clean it yet. That's today's project.

Still have an ad up for a roommate also. I have to repost today.

If something doesn't happen soon, I don't know what I'm going to do! I'm going to start this week selling everything I own just to be able to pay my taxes.

Sorry things are so tough for you right now. Where do you live? If you are near any colleges it might be worth seeing if they have a bulletin board that you could list a room for rent. Near a hospital, maybe an intern that needs a cheap place to live, or if it is a hospital that has alot of out of town patients, might be able to open your house up to family of the patients for short periods, could be easier and less costly then a hotel for family members to stay near a loved one.

I agree, things like this take time, so post ads everywhere in your community but be sure to do background checks when looking for a roomate.

I like the dishes idea... it might cost to heat the water but it saves time! I like the idea of renting to interns or families of hospitalized loved ones. I hope things start going your way soon.

I to put the dishes in water and then not do them. Mine comes from dh getting in anywhere from 1am-3am. So what I have started doing is rinsing them off some and then wash them later. I have stopped filling my washtub up with soapy water. Even though we have a well and natural spring water is water.

used to do this all the time and it drove my CRAZY!!!

That gross slimy water and the smell and the greasy coating on all the dishes -- ugh!!!! He's since gotten out of that habit since he and I moved in together (and because I asked him not to leave anything in the sink anymore) but before it was just plain gross. I don't care about the money wasted, it's just a huge no-no in my books.
