I really enjoy line-drying clothes as well. I know my mother, who HAD to line-dry clothes, and who I remember running out prior to rainstorms to grab all the laundry off the line, would roll her eyes, but I really like the tactile sensation of putting cool, damp laundry on the line and watching the breezes flip it around. I am actually trying to add more lines, because my little one only holds one load at a time, and I'd like to double that capacity.

I love going to the thriftstore and finding different types of utensils for the kitchen. Today I found a mandolin complete with different blades and a manual for $2.95!!!

I LOVE the look of amazement on my hubby's face when I tell him what I paid for something on our list of things we need but don't want to pay much for! ESPECIALLY when I got the item for free on freecycle.

We don't make a lot of money, but what we do make I can stretch REALLY far. He is currently rolling his eyes over line drying clothes. I can't wait to see our electricity bill on the 15th of June. I have already managed to lower our electricity usage 20-30% with many free/low costs tips and tricks.

Walking with my kids 2 miles to the local gas station, buying an ice cream for both of them out of the cooler and walking back. They love to do this and it's great exercise.

Going to the local cemetary that has 3 ponds and feeding the geese leftover bread, cereal etc... It's fun to go during the spring because they lay eggs and each week we go back we get to see the babies hatch and then grow. The geese are so used to being feed that they come right up to us.

First place would have to be thrift shopping with a list. Yep, I make/take a list to the thrift store and if I don't find all the stuff the list comes homes and goes back up on my refrig.

Second place would have to be the library book sales but that only happens twice a year, unless I head off to another library branch out of my area. (at 25 cents a book I won't miss one!!)

I think its tie between thrift store shopping and gardening. My kids LOVE to go with me. I give them a few bucks and they see what they can get. The kids and I have a garden at my parents and a garden at our house. We spend alot of time with my parents, nephews, and my sister in my parents garden. We spend alot of time together in ours. That is the best part.

    Taking the bus to work!

    I buy a 3-month card for € 76 ($ 106), and my company refunds me € 90 ($ 125). So I actually make a profit by taking public transport!

Even if I had to pay it myself, it would only be € 1.17 ($1.63) per day to commute.

    This is a tough question!

I actually get a "high" when I get a great deal or an item free after coupon use! I also enjoy garage sales...our season just started - WOO HOO! So let's call all of this bargain shopping!

I enjoy surfing the net, looking for deals and money saving tips/ideas. I just picked up 4 summer tops for my daughter from Kohls.com for $9 total.

I enjoy couponing. I'm cutting coupons right now while I wait for my SLOW dialup connection to work.

And the library is one of my favorite places to go. Ahhhh.....all those books and so little time to read them all!

    Cool

WARNING: CRABBY POST, BY A CRABBIER POSTER

Right now, the funnest frugal thing I do is 'NOTHING'.

Lately I've been struggling hard with work, and have also been very ill, weak, upset, discouraged, harassed, worried and sad = stress.
No practical help anywhere; I'm on my own.

So, no tv, radio, computer, people, things, noise, light, etc.

I find it helps me just to sleep it off when I can, and try to block it all out... try to forget... try to recover... try to think of a way to cope.

Food helps too. So to sum it up: food and sleep are my present fun.

    -------

Hmmmmm...actually... writing about how crabby I feel these days was sorta fun...

    Old thread but good..
    1. I currently love to sit in the backyard w/ my family around our yard sale $15.00 coleman fire pit burning free brush and sticks from the yard, eating sale food cooked outside while sitting on Garage sale chairs. My son plays his guitar and banjo purchased at the Flea market which he learned to play free from the internet. If it's not too dark we like to read our library books by the light of our parking lot sale lanterns at our estate sale picnic table. If we get cold we put on our Salvation army sweaters and drink hot choc out of our Dollar store mugs. If it gets to buggy we go in our Big Lot screen house and play cards w/ our playing cards from the "Free Box at the yard sale. When we get bored we read the paper the neighbor put in our box every week in exchange for xmas bakegoods and LAUGH and Laugh at all the retail sale prices in the paper before we clip out all the sale coupons w/ the scissors we got from curb side shopping. (TRUE STORY,I SWEAR on my discount soul!!)
