Default What's the funnest (not funniest) frugal thing you do?

I'd have to say for me it's thrifting. I love to go and dig and dig and dig. What's yours?

Staying home and playing with my kids instead of going out and SHOPPING! I used to be the clearance/stockpile queen - now I enjoy more simplicity and being with my family!

Picture a 6 year old with nail polish... yup.. DD loves to give me a 'fancy smancy' hand treatment (hand massage with lotion) and then paints my nails. I have to admit it, she is good!

She had heard me tell a friend that 'back in the day' I would go to the salon twice a week, once for a head massage/conditioner and once for a manicure...
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I'd have to say going to yard sales. I love flea markets more, but I don't have any around me.

For me personally, thrift stores and yard sales

For my family, fun family outings that don't cost anything like nightly walks and trips to the parks. I love the family time.

It's a toss up between thrifting and refinishing something wood.

~I love treasure hunting at yard sales! And making/sewing gifts. Rebating is pretty fun too. Fixing and serving a gourmet course meal at home for the price of Mcdonalds hamburgers is fun too. And I love hanging laundry outside; very relaxing.~

I would have to say watching my cc balances going down and the savings account balance going up!

Yard sales, the library, taking the kids to the free park up the street, the farmer's market down the street (a walk & fresh produce!), and bargain hunting at grocery stores. I really do get a kick out of trying to get good groceries on the cheap

Entering the new numbers on the cc debt reduction and seeing the pay-off date get closer. I get a kick out of seeing how much I can save with coupons, get for free and rebate as well.

Walking to the big playground with DS and seing how much fun he has, instead of dragging him to the mall and seing how boring it is for him.

Family trips to the library, thrift store shopping, & finding "free" things for us to do top my list.
