I agree this could be fun, I haven't used any coupons yet this month so nothing to post. What do you do with your coupon savings, I stash mine into my gift jar, what I use all year long for bday gifts, christmas, anniversary, mother/fathers day etc. Sometimes I do rob the jar for the occasional meal out.

Sounds like a great idea! Our local grocery has coupons... I try to combine those with manufacturer coupons when possible. NO double couponing up here in Alaska.

I'm in!! I've got to keep pressing on with workin' on our food budget... I kept it low last month, but didn't stockpile even close to as heavily as normal (still did some, though).

I wish my Dh liked to fish...that could help cut food costs up here...

Keep us posted on your progress!!

This is a good idea, I keep track in my financial journal and last month we saved $34.75 at the grocery store using coupons. We haven't used any at the grocery store yet this month. We used a $4 coupon when we went to dinner yesterday.

I believe one can save that much with coupons, if you are tracking what you save with coupons how long did it take you to save that much. I put my saved cash from coupons in a jar, I have just over $400 in there accumulated since Christmas 2006, money has also come out of it for 6 bday gifts and mothers day gifts for my grandma, dhs grandma, my mom and stepmom, dhs mom....and my kids and dh will use some of it for my mothers day gift.

    Default Coupon game

I joined the grocery store game website for a 4 week trial period just yesterday. They match up your coupons with your local store sales ads. It was recommended in one of Mary Hunt's books.

Since I work full time & have 5 hungry teens to run around; meal planning has been difficult.

I hope the couponing game works for me because it will save me TIME & money. So I'll try it for 4 weeks & see if it works! I'll start tracking my savings next week...

To save time, I've tried once-a-month cooking & didn't like it & I tried the "Dream Dinners" & "Super Suppers" and the family didn't like that food, either.

(Please let me know if I am not allowed to mention brand names or author names).

check and see if the stores you frequent are on this site http://www.couponmom.com/ the grocery deals by state, works just like the coupon game but it is free. That way if the coupon game works for you you don't have to pay for it, or not pay for a second store if one is listed on the coupon mom list.

It has only taken me three months to save that much. I do it with the Grocery game and some others. I use coupon mom to help supliment the grocery game but honeslty they miss to many good deals and often dont have the best coupon paired with it. Or any coupon for that matter. Like today. I used coupon mom to pull up the winndixie list. A certain brand of refried beans are on sale for 1.00 . They said that was a good price and to buy it. But what they didnt put on the list was that this sunday and a few weeks ago there were coupons in the paper. Makeing the same can of refried beans only .50cents a can. So becuase I was useing coupon mom instead of grovery game I might have paid twice as much.

Funny they missed the refried beans for winndixie, we don't have winndixie here anymore, they have all closed. But it does have refried beans listed for me to get at harris teeter for 50cents a can after the coupon.

The winndixie one is the only one I use at coupon mom because I dont get that many deals there so the list wasnt worth paying for. I think if you know your prices coupon mom is fine. It certainly is more helpful than just looking at the add. I go by the percentages. I dont buy anything that wont save me more than 55% after my coupons unless its an item I really need. They also missed the tidy cat on the walgreens list. ITs BOGO and the paper had a coupon for 1.00 off. They didnt have the coupon listed. I dont have much off a problem because I know my coupon stock but a newbie would miss out on some great stuff.

I have a monthly list where I write down money saved with coupons, rebates received, gift cards earned, survey checks, etc.

Do you count just coupons, or "store savings" too? Like when you do a B1G1F deal? If just coupons, so far this month I've spent $85.39 on groceries and saved $39.05 with coupons. If you added in "specials and store savings" it would double that saved amount (but then I probably wouldn't have bought certain items if they weren't on sale either).

I don't write myself a check at the end of the month or anything, I just tell DH what I've contributed to our monthly budget, LOL.

    No double coupons here either.
