Milk is going up again!!
Here in my area, milk is getting ready to go up another 30 cents a gallon!
Thank will bring the cost of store-brand 2% milk here to...$3.49 an gallon!
I'll have a baby getting ready to be on milk in a year...wonder if I'll be able to afford the ten bucks a gallon it's going to cost then??

We're sticking to powdered milk...it's gone up a LOT, too...is still slightly cheaper (and keeps me from running to the store whenever we run out..saving gas and the $ I would likely spend on other things just walking thru the door).

Wow!! That's way too much! I've been trying to take it easy on the milk...but there is a milk phantom somewhere in this house, since nobody in claiming the blame! I had half a gallon in the fridge last night, went and bought 2 more gallons (on sale here $1.88), go in the fridge this morning...and a whole gallon of milk disappeared over the night!! I'm pretty sure my 4 year old isn't consuming that much...
The way things are going, it's going to end up being cheaper to give baby #2 formula the second year instead of milk!

Heather, are you signed up or able to sign up for WIC?

I just paid $3.38 a gallon for it about 15 minutes ago.
To be honest, I didn't know if that was up or not because for myself - I never buy the stuff [I hate it!]
But, I went to the store for my elderly neighbor and he asked me to pick him up a gallon.
I did notice that the $3.38 was the cheaper brand and that another brand was like $3.50 or $3.60, something like that.
Love,
Jennelle

Don't know if you have a Walgreens near you. But I work for Walgreens and the milk is so much cheaper than at the Grocery store. I don't get a discount on dairy. I pay about 2.49 for a gallon at Walgreens compared to over 3.00 at the grocery store. Some weeks we run 1.99 specials too.

I just heard on the news that all dairy products will be on the rise because dairy farmers were cutting back on the milk they were producing. It has something to do with the price or shortage of grains they feed the dairy cows. The newscaster said to watch for a rise in cheese, ice cream, milk, etc.
I thought, "GREAT!" Thank goodness DH gets his raise this month!~*Michelle*~

It goes on sale at Kroger's fairly regularly but still, it is expensive.
So at what point do we just break down and buy a cow?
Just kidding, for now...

Argh! My family drinks huge quantities of milk. We're in trouble.
Any one want to go in on havies on a milk cow?

I have been begging DH to slow down on his consumption of milk. I buy the 1% lowfat milk, and he drinks as much as a half gallon a day by himself! I asked him a couple of days ago if he could cut back to two glasses a day. He said it would be hard, but he would think about it. I like milk too, but I find myself not drinking any to make it last longer. My bones will be getting brittle just to support his "habit"!

I'm in Texas, which has a lot of dairies. I wonder if that affects the price here (makes it cheaper than other areas). It's still only $2.89/gallon at Braum's, which is the only brand of milk DH will drink. He's the only one who drinks it, so it lasts a little while around here.
