    Default High School Graduation

My nephew will be graduating from high school soon & I'm trying to decide what amount the gift should be. We are a small family & plan to attend the graduation ceremony. However, I was thinking of mailing his card with the check so he would have it early. Also his birthday is in a few weeks. Plus his younger brother will feel left out if I don't give him a little something when big brother gets birthday & graduation gifts. Oh & did I mention I have a cousin also graduating.

Anyone else getting ready for graduations? I can see the 20s floating out of my wallet whenever I think about it. Hope I won't need a new outfit for the graduation ceremory... do others dress up? It will be outside unless it rain... so that means warm temps if we're lucky, hot if we're not lucky.

I have 1 wedding next weekend the 26th of May, 3 graduations in June and 1 BDay in June! YIKES!

I already got the wedding present (A set of 4 wine glasses + we have to buy a bottle of champagne and a 1/2 keg of beer), all the graduation presents (DS and 2 Step-daughters), I got my son some stuff to start him in college (shaving set with bag, GC to starbucks, a goodie bag) he knows I dont have cash to give him so he's ok with that. The step-daughters I got them a pair of gold earrings (hearts) and the other sister for the heart shaped gold pendant necklace. It actually was a set but when I bought it I asked them to separate them for 2 gifts.

The my DH's DD's baby is going to be 2 in June and I have yet to buy that gift but will go to Marshalls for that. Money is tight this month but we will be fine as always.

No graduations this year, thankfully. Yes, we still dress up for graduation.

For May, I have received 3 graduation invitations, 3 wedding invitations, 1 retirement party invitation, and I have 2 birthdays to buy for. Looks like we are just passing money to everyone.

We have given $25 for 2 of the graduation invites and we will give $100 to our niece on Friday. For 2 of the wedding invitations, I was lucky enough to just pitch in with co-workers and on the other, I mailed a $25 GC to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. For the retirement party for a co-worker, the staff all pitched in and purchased her pearls. For one of the birthday gifts, I went to the gift closet and the other one is for my dad. I am undecided what to send him.

May should be known as "National Go Broke Month."

A "little update"... recieved a wedding shower invitation in the mail yesterday from another cousin. Really not to excited about this since they couldn't even spell my name correctly. I know I'm being silly, but one of the ladies giving the shower spells her name like mine & hers was correct on the invitation, but mine was wrong on the envelope.

Anyway, I think I'll skip the new outfit for graduation & the shower... will find something in the closet for both. Even without a new outfit I'll easily spend $100-150 over the next 2 weeks. Oh well, I have a payday between now & then, plus I did plan for the nephew's birthday & graduation. Hope there aren't more invitations on their way to me.
